What is onabotulinumtoxinA?
OnabotulinumtoxinA, commonly known as Botox®, is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is widely used in both medical and cosmetic treatments. By temporarily blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, it inhibits nerve signals that cause muscle contractions or stimulate sweat glands.

Expectations
After onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) treatment, patients can expect noticeable improvements in their targeted areas with minimal downtime. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites may occur immediately after treatment, but these effects typically subside within a few hours to a couple of days. Most patients can resume daily activities immediately, although it’s recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours.
